LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
The ballroom said goodbye to another male celebrity on “Dancing With the Stars” Wednesday night.
Former “Love Boat” and “Married With Children” star Ted McGinley was the second star booted from the three-night season premiere of “DWTS’” Season 7.
“Well I’m gonna miss everybody. It’s a lot of fun,” a stunned Ted told host Tom Bergeron as he was told he was going home. “I can’t believe I am gonna say this again, but I was looking forward to dancing more.”
Ted, who had been dancing with professional Inna Brayer, herself a first-timer to the program, left the show, despite getting high marks on the second night of competition Tuesday, when he took on the mambo.
“What you showed Ted is that with hard work anything is possible. Tonight you have come out and done a very commendable mambo,” judge Len Goodman said during the show’s second night.
Ted was hoping to continue on to next week, where he would have tried out the Paso Doble, but his fans didn’t vote in big enough numbers to get him through.
“There’s a lot of guys at home, sitting on the couch with a beer in their hand having a little chuckle at me and you know what, thank you for that,” he said. “I appreciate it. I’m one of the guys. I guess I’ll always be one of the guys. Some of us aren’t meant to dance I guess.”
As she said goodbye to the ballroom also, Inna had praise for her partner.
“I’m so proud of him,” she said. “He’s come a long way and he’s done an excellent job, I’m so happy.”
