Viola Davis and husband Julius Tennon, who recently welcomed a daughter to their family through adoption, snuck in a little couple’s time on Saturday night and though baby Genesis was at home for the evening, the new parents couldn’t contain their pride over their bundle of joy.

“She’s awesome. I mean, I know every parent says their child is awesome, but she’s awesome,” “The Help” star told Access Hollywood at the 2011 Governors Awards in Los Angeles, where James Earl Jones, makeup artist Dick Smith and Oprah Winfrey were honored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

When people become famous, long-lost relatives often come out of the woodwork.

That became a particular problem for country singer Rodney Atkins — who released his fourth album, “Take A Back Road,” last week — when he became the spokesman for the National Council for Adoption in 2008. People were coming upto him with bags of hair wanting DNA tests, and he couldn’t easily determine who his relatives were. Atkins was adopted as an infant and didn’t have any contact with his birth family.
