Keith Urban Talks Recovering From Vocal Cord Surgery & His Three Weeks Of Silence

Keith Urban is ready to rock – country style – once again.

The Nashville-based superstar has fully recovered from his surgery to remove a polyp on his vocal cords last year, and he opened up on Access Hollywood Live about spending the latter part of 2011 in total silence.

“I had this operated on and you have to [go] three weeks [with] no talking, no uttering a sound, and you can’t cry, you can’t sneeze, you can’t cough, you can’t clear your throat,” Keith told Access Hollywood Live’s Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Tuesday’s show. “It was a strange three weeks, but I had a dream one night – it was the strangest thing ‘cause I thought, ‘What’s my voice gonna sound like when I hear it the first time again?’”

overview

At just 40 years old, Nicole Kidman has an impressive resume, especially for an actress who spent years overshadowed by her super star ex-husband, Tom Cruise. Nicole quit high school before graduation to pursue her one and only dream - becoming an actress. After building a successful and award-winning career in Australia, she got noticed in the U.S market in 1989 with her role in “Dead Calm.” It was while appearing opposite Tom Cruise in “Days of Thunder” that she fell in love with her co-star and made off with the acting world’s most eligible bachelor. The couple has two children together.

Despite being “Mrs. Cruise” for 10 years, she continued to turn in impressive performances in a string of solid film roles. The couple split in 2001 and which seemed like the impetus Kidman needed to really bust out. Her true star-making role may have been in the Baz Luhrmann musical-movie “Moulin Rouge.” Finally out of the “Tom shadow” she racked up a series of very impressive 21st-century roles including “The Hours,” (for which she won a Best Actress Oscar), “Cold Mountain” and “The Interpreter.” For the past few years, however, most of her films have performed poorly at the box office, including the 2007 holiday disappointment, “The Golden Compass.”

In 2006, she married again, this time to a fellow Aussie, country music star Keith Urban, and welcomed daughter Sunday Rose on July 7, 2008.  (Kidman also has two adopted children, Connor and Isabella, with ex-husband, Tom Cruise.)
