The vampire romance “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” sucked up $140.7 million in its first three days and pulled in a total of $258.8 million worldwide, according to studio estimates Sunday.

A host of “The Twilight Saga” stars hit the red carpet last night for the premiere of “New Moon” with one notable exception – Rachelle Lefevre.
Rachelle plays evil vampire Victoria in the second film in Stephenie Meyer’s vampire series, but was replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard in “Eclipse,” the third installment, following a scheduling conflict.
And on Monday night, Rachelle explained two things kept her away – her sick dog Honey and the recasting.

Now that Chris Weitz has completed “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” has he received an offer to direct the fourth film, “Breaking Dawn?”
“No official offer has been made,” Chris told The Hollywood Reporter. “We’ll have to see how people feel about the entire movie, not only the studio but the fans, before the verdict is out whether I direct No. 4.”
